Rumour Mill- Russell back on Hitlist?

Burnley boss Owen Coyle is hoping to sign Scunthorpe striker Martin Paterson, Norwich midfielder Darel Russell and Hearts winger Andy Driver.

Who says so?

Well the Daily Mirror that's who.

Martin Paterson we know about, hopefully he will finalise terms today with the club after a transfer fee was agreed with Scunthorpe last Friday. The Mirror though seem out of date on this one suggesting we will get him for £750,000 despite the £1.3 million package now agreed

Hearts will have to approach Burnley if we are still interested in Andrew Driver. They have so far refused two bids and Owen Coyle has made it clear there will be no further bids indicating that the ball is now firmly in Hearts' court. The Daily Mirror believe we could secure his services for £750,000, which was the amount rumoured to be the second bid turned down by Hearts!

So what of Darel Russell? We were first linked to this player back in May, but since then his name has hardly been mentioned or linked to the club.

Norwich midfielder,Darel Russell was linked last May with a £500,000 move to Burnley according to a local East Anglian newpaper, the Norwich Evening News.

The paper also stated that Norwich City were prepared to repel any offers for one of their top performers last season.

Russell began his career with the Canaries as a youth player but despite a number of appearances was unable to establish himself as a regular first team player.

He was transferred to Stoke in 2003 for £125,000.

Russell then rejoined the Canaries from Stoke City for £410,000 last summer. He has since been playing regularly in the first team under Norwich manager, Glenn Roeder although he was rested towards the end of the season.

The Mirror also suggests we will be bringing in a mystery loan with all four players now being on the cards due to the Lafferty money in the bank.

Wonder who the mystery loan is? The Mirror article though looks at fault to me and must have been written before Friday's announcement of the Paterson deal

ridiculous. you don't want to sign a norwich player. they are like plague, and are to be avoided at all costs... he will not improve your team, he will make it worse!
