'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Coyle will not bid more for A Driver!

The Clarets are known to have made two bids to try and bring Heart's winger, Andrew Driver to Turf Moor with both being turned down by the SPL club.

There was speculation that we might increase the bid again especially since additional money from the Lafferty deal was now available. There were however reports suggesting Hearts wanted a seven-figure fee for Driver after it is understood Coyle's last bid amounted to £750,000.

Hints from the media suggested that Driver wanted to now leave Hearts and would like to play for the Clarets.

However further Clarets interest in the player has now been dampened by gaffer,Owen Coyle.

Coyle has confirmed that he has no intention to increase his bid for the 20-year-old leaving the ball firmly in Hearts' court

'We made two inquiries for Andrew and we're not preparing a third bid,' Coyle told BBC Sport.

'The way it was left was, if anything was going to happen, Hearts had to come back to us.'

'I felt we made a fair offer for the player.'

So we now await to see whether Hearts contact the club. Coyle gave no indication of the last bid on the table but for the moment our interest in the player looks to be dead in the water.

So what do you think? Will Hearts come back asking us to reconsider or have we effectively moved on and given up? Makes you wonder how close that second bid was to the seven figure value, Hearts appear to have in mind

Recent history suggests that Hearts over price their players and I believe they need the money at the moment, so we have done right. If they do need to sell, they will come back. They were probably looking to get a bidding war going, but nobody else joined in.

Intriguing this one, if we finish up getting Driver, Coyle and his tactics will get a big vote from me at least!
