Paterson Bid Accepted!

BURNLEY have this evening seen a bid accepted from Scunthorpe United for striker Martin Paterson.

Scunthorpe have confirmed that a bid of £1.3Million plus add-ons has been accepted. The Iron have also thrown in a 20% sell on clause should Paterson leave Burnley before his contract is up.

Paterson is due in East Lancashire on Monday morning to discuss personal terms over the move as Owen Coyle steps up his chase for his main targets.

Todmorden News had exclusively revealed that Paterson was due to be a Burnley player on Friday following the sale of Kyle Lafferty.

£1.3 million for a player who scored quite a few goals in a poor team last season looks like a good buy.

I agree it does look good on paper, but so did Ian Moore at the time. This lad is young and probably as quite a lot to learn. Apparently Scunny fans say he is always off-side, so thats one thing we need to coach him on, but if we keep buying players with age on their side we should be a very strong side in a year or two as long as we keep hold of them. He has stated that he wants to come here which is another positive. Lets get a few more signed before July before we can add a few free transfers and loan players to the squad.
