'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No Gow

Alan Gow will not be joining Burnley as part of the Lafferty deal. Gow's agent said:

'Alan has never wanted to leave Rangers and, all along, he has been determined to report back for pre-season and do everything he can to force his way back into the first-team picture.

'Alan supported Rangers as a kid and it has taken him his whole career to get to Ibrox and he never wanted to walk away without giving it another shot.

'Alan was flattered by the interest shown in him by Burnley and Owen Coyle and he had to think long and hard about remaining at Rangers.

'But Alan believes that if he had gone then he would have been left thinking what if' for the rest of his career.

'I believe that, if anything, the interest shown by Burnley and the hunger of Owen Coyle to take him to Turf Moor has given Alan's confidence a boost after what has been a very frustrating season for him.

'Now all his focus is on reporting back for pre-season at Rangers next Wednesday and showing his commitment to the cause.'

The Official Site have now confirmed the situation with Burnley manager Owen Coyle quoted as saying:

"We have ended our interest in Alan and will now concentrate on our other targets,

"This remains a fantastic deal for Burnley Football Club and we wish Kyle all the best in his future career."

Burnley will now receive an undisclosed addition payment for Lafferty.

The hunt for our first signing continues.

Like I said elsewhere, I hope this bleeding hearts stuff for Rangers doesnt evaporate if and when he signs for another Championship team. If he signs for Preston, the humiliation will be complete!

Well the wayi see it Scot prem is the same level as The Championship. With so many players swapping from Rangers/Celtic for Wolves and such like. It would really pee me off if he signs for PNE!

Really concerns me, we cant seem to attract anybody at the moment with no targets coming to date and those offered new contracts refusing! Hope I'm wrong but summat dont seem right at the club and its got worse since Cotterill left!

If he doesn't join you, lets hope he joins us. IPSWICH TOWN

Well if he does it makes a mockery of the whole situation!

Fair point. But chances are he'll end up joining QPR. Sounds a decent player though.
