Dyer Straits in a Wright-Philips Mess!

Dyer Straits in a Wright-Philips Mess!

Two Southampton players have been charged with burglary in connection with the theft of items from a Portsmouth nightclub. One of these is a former Clarets loan player, 20-year old winger,Nathan Dyer and the other Saints player is 23 year old striker Bradley Wright-Phillips

Both players will appear before Portsmouth magistrates on 8 July. The pair were charged after answering police bail at the central police station in Portsmouth.

As reported by Vital Burnley they were arrested in March over claims that items had been taken from Bar Bluu nightclub, Southsea on the night of 28 February.

Staff members at the nightclub had claimed that a number of items including three mobile phones, student cards, cash worth £145 and cigarettes went missing from three handbags.

Police launched an investigation when it was revealed that a group of men were filmed on CCTV entering the unlocked staff room.

There has been no comment from Southampton FC about the case.

Nathan Dyer had been waiting to see if his contract would be renewed in the close season and this news could significantly affect his future career. How very sad, lets hope somebody has made a terrible mistake!

I hope this proves to be wrong and both lads are cleared. I find it difficult to imagine that two professional footballers on high salaries would find it necessary to steal such modest items but what do I know!

Dont think so,unless they have announced a decision in last few days-Friday BBC Sport said:Among those waiting to hear their future are Nathan Dyer, Inigo Idiakez, Darren Powell and Jermaine Wright, who will be free agents
