Burnley need more Steel to get Paterson from Iron

Scunthorpe have confirmed that the Clarets' latest offer for Martin Paterson has once more been rejected.

<

Burnley this time upped their original 400k offer to 450,000 up front, with 50,000 after 30 games, 50,000 after 60 games, and another installment should the Clarets win promotion to the Premier League.

It is perhaps not surprising the bid has been turned down. Various media reports suggest that Scunthorpe rate the player in the 650k-1million category and only last January rejected a bid from Norwich of 850k for the 20-year old.

Back to the drawing board, Burnley!

Yep, I think it needs to be 650k up front plus add ons.

It's all gone quiet but it looks like the pressure for Scunthorpe to sell might now come from the player & agent. They seem to be making all the right noises. Surely we can get this player with one final push?
