When the Ball Moves Online Joins Vital Burnley

We are delighted to announce that When the Ball Moves... fanzine is also now going online and has decided to use the facilities provided by Vital Burnley. The online fanzine will soon have their own forum accessible via their own URL www.whentheballmoves.co.uk. There will also be a special section for all WTBM articles and announcements.

The good news too is that both the editor of Vital Burnley (Phil Lea) and the Editor of When the Ball Moves (Martin Barnes) have agreed to donate 50% of the profits made by the joint site hits to Clarets Trust.

Vital Burnley Editor, Phil Lea said of the collaboration' This is a great opportunity for Vital Burnley, When the Ball Moves and Clarets Trust. As far as I am aware this is the first time a Clarets website has gone into partnership with an established fanzine with a view to also jointly supporting a Trust organisation. I have known Martin aka Barnsey for some time and of course we are both on the Board of Clarets Trust. I am naturally delighted that When the Ball Moves... will now be hosted online by Vital Burnley and thank Martin for the work he has put in sorting out this agreement'

Martin Barnes, Editor of WTBM... had this to say about the new partnership

'I have been thinking of getting a When The Ball Moves... website going for at least five seasons now, and finally, I have pulled my finger out, and done it! I would like to thank all at Vital Football for giving us this opportunity. We aim to be a slightly irreverant website, and hope to be different to all other BFC sites - we will not, hopefully, be competing with any of the exisiting sites out there. We want our messageboard to be a place for FUN banter. This will not simply be an extension of the website, but we will have caption competitions, questions for the fans, as well as the opportunity to submit opinions and articles for the paper version of the fanzine. When The Ball Moves...download it!'

Looking forward to sorting this over the close season, and I hope people find it as good as the paper version - albeit different! Also, anyone who wants to write articles for the electronic or paper versions is welcome to do so! Let me know at whentheballmoves@hotmail.com

Barnsey, as we agreed you are welcome to take anything from any part of our website for use in the magazine. All we ask is you credit Vital Burnley. One other thought, the site at the moment is thinking of holding pre-match drinky poos next season both for home games (Sparrow Hawk bar) and away games ( pubs to be named with directions how to get there etc). Perhaps you could plug this in the magazine and get the WTBM posters involved. We can then move our online community to real life, meet each other and have a blast!

Very pleased that there is a co-operative panel in charge of this site, a change for the better methinks!
