No Cole in the Fire for Clarets!

No Cole in the Fire for Clarets!

Andrew Cole will not be returning to Turf Moor according to the Lancashire Telegraph

It is understood that last night he rejected the Clarets' offer of a permanent contract.

The player spoke to gaffer Owen Coyle yesterday afternoon to confirm the situation.

Owen Coyle had this to say about this latest disappointment for Clarets fans:

'At the end of the day it was always going to be a difficult one because of the level of finance,

'We obviously didn't pay his full salary when he was on loan because it was way in excess of what everyone else is on here. Obviously when he left Sunderland, we put a proposal to Andrew.

'Given that it is a fairly reduced package from what he's used to then obviously he wanted a bit of time to think it over.

'We loved working with him and I think he loved it at the football club, but he had a decision to make and he's made it, which he is within his rights to do.

'The bottom line is the deal's not been suitable to him.'

Thats a first for the Mail. It looks like he is looking for one last big pay day. I'm very glad that we are not going to stretch our finances to get Cole on a one year deal. That one wage could cost us the chance to bring in 3 players on regular championship wages, sp thanks for the effrot you put in last season and hope you find a club willing to pay daft wages for somebody that I don't believe can play 90 minutes or last a full season.

Well said, I am up to here with players up their own arse!

I suppose if you want to get premier standard players you have to put up with their ridiculous demands unless we can bring a team through from the youth and teach them how to behave :-) End of the day its all about money now and not pride or passion. Shame really and I know who I blame for pumping so much cash into football. Problem is I subscribe to many of their channels :-(

It still bugs me that a player with at most a season left in him,one who has hummed and arghed about retirement still chooses to look at his bank account to this extent. Very disappointed in his attitude, but that's the type of footballer we breed these days thanks to Sky & the agents
