Stan Ternent-New Huddersfield Manager

Former Clarets manager, Stan Ternent has been given permission by Derby to join League One side Huddersfield as their new manager.

Ternent now 61 joined the Rams as assistant manager five months ago helping Paul Jewell with the hopeless task of keeping Derby in the Premier League.

However he will now take over from Andy Ritchie at the Galpharm Stadium.

Derby chairman of football Adam Pearson said:

"We have given him permission to join Huddersfield as their manager.

"We have not sought any compensation from Huddersfield.

"I would like to thank Stan Ternent for the hard work he has put in for Derby and the support he has given Paul Jewell."

Former Terrier with Clarets connections, Ronnie Jepson is also set to join Huddersfield as his assistant bringing back the situation they both enjoyed at Gillingham.

Heck, he did alright for us for a time, thought he would be an ideal candidate for getting clubs in the lower divisions promoted. Give him a chance at least

nah its a poor appointment mate all town fans wanted hutchings or martin allen, would have been more appropriate than an old man its a shocker and very dissapointing

Well you might be surprised but let's see. I can understand you might want someone younger although at 61 Ternent is hardly past it just yet

But they have worked well together over the seasons, Jepson has been both player and assistant manager under Ternent. Bury & Burnley have seen promotions under the two and they nearly rescued another from the drop appointed half-way through a season at Gillingham. Like I say, for heavens sake give them a chance. There is nowt you can do about it anyway now the appointments have been made, what you going to do, boo the pair as soon as they come onto the pitch and before they have had chance to succeed or fail?

yes thats exACTLY it lol they aint confirmed yet only media speculation, i have spoken to my mate they have been there for discussions but its not finalised as yet

LISTEN no town fans are excited or happy at the appointment which = no fans buyin tickets or coming to games which is bad news all around after our last 2 seasons
