Coyle wants to keep Rodriguez

Owen Coyle has confirmed on the Club's Official Site that he is in talks with teenager Jay Rodriguez hoping that he will remain with the club

The young striker is in his first year as a professional with Burnley FC and this season was loaned out to Stirling Albion for work experience

'I want to keep Jay Rodriguez.,said the gaffer

'I think he has an opportunity and I have already been speaking to his agent and we will look to get that resolved.

'The reason Jay went to Stirling is we knew he would get regular games.

'He missed six weeks with a chest problem, but he has still done well and he looks as if he is improving on a regular basis

'The two months during the summer are important to him now because I would expect him to come back bigger and stronger and hopefully ready to show that he has a part to play at this football club.'

This lad sounds full of confidence, I remember hearing that in the Wrexham friendly last season, he told some of the seniors that he was going to take a late penalty after just coming on. He cooly scored as well

Latest appears to be according to the Sunday paper rumours, that Coyle wants to keep him but send him out on loan to his gaffer mate's club at Partick along with Alex Mc
