Bradford to test Burnley in July

The Clarets will play Bradford City in a pre-season friendly for the second year running on Tuesday, July 29 according to local Yorkshire paper, Bradford Telegraph & Argus.

The kick off will be at 7:45pm and will be played at Valley Parade or if you prefer the ground's full title, the Bradford & Bingley Pulse Flamingo Land Pension Fund Intersonic Coral Windows. You still awake?

Last time 227 Burnley fans travelled over the Pennines to watch the Clarets come away with a 1:1 draw against the League 2 outfit.

Ade Akinbiyi opened the scoring for the Clarets midway through the first-half.

Bradford however equalised on the stroke of half-time and the game somewhat petered out in the second-half.

The Yorkshire club have had a mediocre season in League 2 and look to be finishing in midtable. Bradford City gaffer Stuart McCall says he is now focused on next season. McCall's first season in charge has been an inconsistent one and he is now looking to build a promotion winning squad for next term.

I think this is possibly the earliest announcement of a pre-season friendly I can remember, seems strange a Yorkshire rag is the first to announce it before either Club officially.

It does seem rather strange, but it'll be a little sneak peak into what we hope has been a prolific spending spree in the close season!! ;)
AccyClaret
No doubt the first chance will be in the traditional opening friendly fixture at Accy. Didnt we also agree with Man U over the Cofie deal, that they would play a friendly against us too or am I getting my wires crossed?
