Appendix No Laffing Matter

Owen Coyle has stated that Kyle Lafferty will miss the last three matches of this season after going down with suspected appendicitis and having his appendix removed after the diagnosis was confirmed.

'Kyle was rushed to hospital on Sunday night with suspected appendicitis, which it was.,the gaffer confirmed

'He has had to have it removed and he will be out now for four or five weeks, which means his season is over.'

The problem first started troubling the Northern Ireland International following the weekend defeat to Sheffield United.

Stan Varga will also miss the last three matches after injections in his foot have still proved unsuccessful.

Might have been concerned had we still been in with a chance of the play-offs, still cant have been nice for the lad and we wish him well and a speedy recovery

Well good luck in your recovery, a player I rate! Has come just as he started to find form!

Next season could be his opportunity to really make a mark in attack, assuming we can keep hold of him and keep the Old Firm plus others at bay

Looks like we are still keen to keep him if Coyle's words in LT are anything to go by.Coyle has stressed he will remain determined to fend off any advances for Laffs that might occur in the summer as he bids to establish a vibrant, young squad. "We turned down a big, big bid from Celtic and there has been interest from other clubs. But the club showed fantastic resolve to turn that down," he said. "I'm trying to build a team and I certainly see Kyle Lafferty and Chris McCann being a part of that. "When I came in I inherited a squad of good players, but a lot of those were on the wrong side of 30.
