Bury Fans B 2-6 Burnley Fans

A SLIGHTLY WEAKENED Burnley Supporters Team travelled to Bury this morning to take on a second stringed Bury Fans Team and came away with their first ever victory.

Manager Kev Robinson was faced with several selection dilemas, with Phillip Berry and Ged Isherwood away on personal terms, the left side of the squad was depleted, with both defender and midfielder gone.

Striker Martyn Robinson was the only injury absentee, missing the game with an unfortunate ankle injury sustained in training the week before, but former Skipper Martin Heys was fit and ready to be named in the side following an ongoing illness forced him to miss the 3-2 defeat at Preston.

Top scorer 16-year-old Tom Henderson was relegated to the bench for the game, but came on at half-time to prove to everyone why he is top scorer, netting a marvelous hattrick.

It took Burnley just five minutes to open the scoring, with Steven 'BobbyDazzler' Wynne netting. The Clarets doubled their advantage when Lee Maher smashed the ball home from distance to give Burnley a real boost.

But two goals in three minutes from Bury's B outfit, meant that the teams went into the half time break with an equal scoreline.

The Clarets came back out for the second period clearly revitalised and soon regained their lead, with debutant, Richard scoring.

Now it was time for the Henderson show, as the youngster took his total to six for the season as the Clarets picked up their first three points of their campaign.

NEXT UP: Burnley Fans take on Bury's A team at Towneley on Saturday 12th April, with a kick off time of 10:30am, so if you can make it please come along and support the boys.
