Elliott Wades In

Wade Elliott`s match-winning performance in the 1-0 victory over Charlton helped the Burnley midfielder move into the Top 10 of The Actim Index, the official player ratings system of the Coca-Cola Championship.

Elliott posted 34 points as he netted the only goal against the Addicks, a game which also saw him make 13 passes, two crosses and a dribble.

He netted half that tally in the 3-1 home defeat by Wolves but his form was enough to see him climb eight places to 10th in the Index with 493 points.

Elliott is one of three Clarets players in the top 40 with Robbie Blake (439) in 26th and Graham Alexander (428) in 35th.

Analysis of all Championship games is taking place throughout the season and so far the top five Burnley players are:

Player, Ranking, Position Ranking, Index Score

Wade Elliott, 10th, 4th-Ranked Midfielder, 493

Robbie Blake, 26th, 7th-Ranked Striker, 439

Graham Alexander, 35th, 8th-Ranked Defender, 428

Gabor Kiraly, 111th, 18th-Ranked Goalkeeper, 322

Jon Harley, 151st, 54th-Ranked Defender, 277

The Actim Index is calculated using a unique mathematical formula that rates each player`s contribution be it goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, assists, clean sheets, time on the pitch or number of points gained by the team with marks deducted for red and yellow cards.
