Rumour Mill-Sam Vokes

Rumour Mill-Sam Vokes

The Clarets are understood to be keeping a close eye on 18-year-old Bournemouth striker Sam Vokes according to the Lancashire Telegraph

The local paper also states however that there hasn't been any contact with the Cherries about the player.

Vokes has made 45 appearances for Bournemouth since making his debut against Nottingham Forest in December 2006, scoring 14 goals.

The Lymington-born, 18 year old striker is already a Wales Under 21 international, making his debut for Wales in Feb 2007 against Northern Ireland U21. He also scored after only 36 seconds in their 4-0 victory that day.

It is not clear if the Clarets are tracking this player with a view to a permanent move in the Summer or whether they might be interested in a loan for the rest of the season, possibly with a view to a permanent deal.

Interesting one, wonder where this came from and if true whether they are looking for a permanent player! So another manager with a link to Bournemouth, wonder if Wade Elliott, Garreth O'Connor and/or John Spicer are involved in some way!!??

Could see this happening, has been linked with a few Championship clubs. And Bournemouth aren't exactly doing well at this season.

We do have a strong link with Bournemouth although that was due mainly to the previous gaffer. He sounds a good prospect this young lad although I have not seen him play. Any of the Cherries fans care to comment?

According to Vital Cherries Editor "The 18 year old has gained a lot of attention in recent weeks, with rumours linking him with moves to Celtic and Everton."

Sam, is a real talent for the future however i think Burnely will face some stiff competition to sign him, Everton asked to release him last week so he could train with them and Celtic are also taking an intrest. My personell view is that it is all to soon he needs another season with us , he has really just broken into the 1st team on a regular basis since Xmas. How about a swap Wade and Spicer for Sam?

Sorry ,Wade was an icon down here all bartering starts with him. How is gazza doing now he had a bit of dodgy start to the season . I don't think Bondy did him any favours down here.

Not really featured at all leaprobe, Gaz has been named on the bench a couple of times under Coyle but has not really made it .Just one appearance off the bench all season Im afraid and hes not even in the 16 these days
