Coyle on Varga, Cole and Akinbiyi

Owen Coyle has confirmed that Stanislav Varga will miss the Coventry City match tomorrow night.

The Clarets centre back is still suffering from a bug that led to him being substituted early in the first half during our last match at Plymouth.

The gaffer also plans to make late decisions on whether to risk strikers Andrew Cole and Ade Akinbiyi in this crucial match against the Sky Blues.

'Ade was obviously laid out with the bug that affected both him and Stan Varga' said Coyle

'So much so that Stan will not be available for Tuesday as he is still very poorly.

'Ade is feeling a little better though and we will look at him on Monday and Tuesday.'

Andrew Cole is also recovering from his Achilles tendon injury

'Andrew ideally should have 10 days rest and it's now seven, so that is another one we will look at and make a decision on Tuesday, continued the gaffer

'We have to decide whether it is worth taking a risk in terms of recovery and recuperation, or leave it 10 days and have the player available again for the rest of the season.

'We will deliberate that and do the best for the football club.'

I think it is fair to say most Clarets fans will be hoping that at least one of the strike pair will have recovered in time for tomorrow's night match, the option to have Kyle Lafferty up front flanked by Elliott and Blake clearly didn't work too well against Plymouth on Saturday.

Akinbiyi and Cole seem to have developed a good understanding of each other on the pitch and this was certainly the case in the match away to QPR a week ago.

With 4 goals in two matches played and a hat-trick in his last match against QPR, Andrew Cole is clearly becoming a key force in our attack and hopefully both Akinbiyi and Cole will be able to play at some point in the match tomorrow.

Surely one of our key strikers will play? Its almost critical, I have no confidence in any attack led by Lafferty Im afraid. I suspect Ade will make it with Cole on the bench, but we will see.

LT today:Whether Andrew Cole and Ade Akinbiyi, who both missed the game at Home Park through injury and illness respectively, will be able to return and boost the ammunition is not yet clear. They are likely to be decisions Coyle will wait as long as possible to make.
